Exploring is Connecting

Clyde Vaughan is the August 2018 winner of our Capturing Connections competition. Clyde’s gallery, Exploring is Connecting, focuses on the sense of adventure and his experience with capturing the finite moments he shared with friends, models, and the incredible places they explored together. Clyde says, “I didn’t want to focus on collecting shots that simply show different forms of connection, but rather compose a gallery that overall tells a story of connection between me and my subjects.”

In each of Clyde’s individual shots, he also attempts to convey a warm memory that the viewer can relate to. He wants others to share that sense of adventure he chased while shooting his gallery on road trips out of Sydney, sleeping in his car, and racing back during early mornings to meet deadlines. Our Capturing Connections competition inspired Clyde to pursue further travels and shoot more regularly.
